Privacy Policy Terms of Service

This policy describes how D2R Reimagined ("we," "us," or "our"), a community project based in North Carolina, United States, handles personal information through this website and connected community services, including accounts, characters, ladders, builds, trading, chat, and server saves. Independent services linked from this site have their own privacy policies.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information: email address, display name, account identifiers, password verification data for email/password accounts, roles, and account creation and sign-in records.
  • Linked accounts: identifiers and profile information received when you sign in with or link Steam, Battle.net, or Discord, such as a Steam ID, BattleTag, Discord username, and relevant Discord roles or supporter status. Those providers handle their own passwords; do not send their passwords to us.
  • Community activity: builds, listings, offers, trade messages, chat, feedback, reports, and other information you submit, together with related timestamps and moderation records.
  • Game information: character and item data, progression, ladder results, gameplay events, and save files submitted through supported website, launcher, or plugin features. Connected ladder and server-save features can send data automatically during play when used.
  • Technical information: requests to our services can include IP addresses, browser or client information, request times, errors, and security or diagnostic information. Our hosting and delivery providers may process this information when serving the site and downloads.

Please avoid including sensitive personal information in character names, builds, messages, reports, or uploaded files.

2. How we use information

We use information to create and authenticate accounts, link services, provide community and game features, store and recover submitted saves, publish rankings and shared content, deliver notifications, respond to requests, troubleshoot problems, and maintain service security. We also use relevant records to investigate abuse, cheating, fraud, and rule violations, enforce our terms, and meet legal obligations.

Where applicable data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on providing the services you request, legitimate interests in operating and protecting the community (balanced against your rights), compliance with legal obligations, or consent where required. You may withdraw consent for consent-based processing without affecting earlier lawful processing.

3. Public information and sharing

Public profiles, character details and equipment, ladder results, published builds, trade listings, and public chat may be visible to others and indexed or copied by third parties. The audience depends on the feature and its available visibility settings. Trade messages are shared with conversation participants; authorized administrators may access relevant records for support, security, and moderation. Do not treat service messages as confidential storage.

Information may also be processed by providers supporting hosting, storage, content delivery, authentication, and connected features, as needed to provide those services. We may disclose relevant information when legally required or reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate abuse, enforce our terms, or establish or defend legal claims.

4. Cookies, browser storage, and external content

We use a refresh-session cookie and browser storage to keep you signed in. Browser storage also remembers preferences such as language, font, and trade layout, and can hold Holy Grail progress, skill plans, and build drafts. You can clear or block cookies and site storage in your browser, but doing so may sign you out or permanently remove locally saved progress and drafts. Clearing browser data does not delete information stored on our servers.

Pages may load external content, including embedded YouTube videos and linked images. The external provider can receive your IP address and browser information when that content loads and may use its own storage. Links to Discord, GitHub, Nexus Mods, Steam, Battle.net, and other sites are governed by those providers' policies.

5. Retention, security, and international processing

Retention depends on the type of information and why it is needed, including account operation, save recovery, community history, security investigations, disputes, and legal requirements. Some information may remain in backups or necessary security and moderation records after an account or content removal request. We assess deletion requests against those needs and applicable law; we do not promise immediate removal of every copy.

We use safeguards intended to protect information, but no online service or backup is completely secure or reliable. Keep your own save-file backups. Service providers may process information outside your country, where privacy laws may differ. Where required, international transfers must have safeguards recognized by applicable law.

6. Your choices and rights

You can use available account controls to update information or manage linked accounts. To request access, correction, deletion, or an explanation of how your information is handled, contact the project team using the method below. Depending on your location and applicable law, you may also have rights to portability, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, or appeal of a request decision, and to complain to your local data protection authority.

We may need to verify account ownership before acting on a request. Some records may need to be retained for legal or security reasons; we will explain applicable limitations when responding. Unlinking an external account does not itself erase prior activity or delete your D2R Reimagined account.

7. Children

These services are not intended for children under 13, or below the minimum age required by applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information in violation of this policy, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action, including deletion where required.

8. Changes and contact

We will update the date above when this policy changes and provide additional notice or obtain consent where required by law.

For privacy requests, contact a project administrator through the official D2R Reimagined Discord and ask for a private contact method. Do not post passwords, save files, identity documents, or other private information in public channels.
